For those of you who were at the last meeting, you already know about the exciting opportunity we have to attend an ASU Women’s Basketball game.  For everyone, whether you were there or not, you are all invited and encouraged to come show support for the team.  Jill Noe, a starter for the Sun Devils, has a twin sister who has had multiple brain surgeries related to brain tumors (link to arizona republic article: http://www.azcentral.com/sports/asu/articles/1206asubkw1207.html).  She and the Lady Sun Devils are working with us and supporting SSBTR.  We have been invited to attend the game on SUNDAY JANUARY 20TH AT 1PM.  We will have a table set up to take donations and hand out information about SSBTR and the walk.  We will also be announced on the PA and they are looking in to donating to the silent auction, among other supporting initiatives.  It would be great if we could support them in return.  THE GAME IS FREE TO US.  IT COSTS YOU NOTHING BUT YOUR TIME. Consider it to be part of SSBTR. Please, bring all of your friends and wear your SSBTR shirts from past years if you have one. 

ASU is a ranked team and has been for several years, last season they made it to the Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament, only one win away from the Final Four.  They will be playing Stanford, their long time rival, and a national powerhouse.

The medical students of the University of Arizona College of Medicine will be holding their 2nd Annual Charity Dinner/Dance to benefit SSBTR. Last year it was held in Tucson and was extremely successful raising $2,900.  The 2008 event will be held in PHOENIX on Saturday, February 16th starting at 6:00pm at the Hilton Suites Downtown on Central Avenue and Thomas Road.  Reservations and tickets can be purchased on the SSBTR website (the registration link is located on the left side) using a major credit card.    The cost for sponsors and adults is only $45.00 each.  Medical students, faculty, administrators, staff and their guests will get a special reduced price of only $25 each.  You will have a choice of 3 entrees to choose from and salad, coffee/tea, vegetables, rolls, and desert are all INCLUDED.
